After harvest, washing and centrifugation, the coarse salt goes to the processing plant by conveyor belts where it may be ground or refined.
In the grinding mill, the salt is unloaded in a hopper from where it goes up by a bucket elevator to the grinding mill (hammer mill). Additives are mixed to the salt during grinding. From there the salt goes by screw conveyors to the packing site.

After grinding, salt goes to fluidized bed driers by screw conveyors and is sieved and classified. After classification, salt is carried by screw conveyors to be packaged. In the screw conveyors, before packaging, additives are mixed with the salt according to the future utilization.
Mechanically packaged salt, with no hand contact, is shipped or stored in warehouses.
